In 2020, at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, I was part of the team who cut the acclaimed two-part special series of Hospital.

The series documents the NHS’s response to the single biggest challenge it has ever faced, told in Hospital’s inimitable style. Hospital: Fighting Covid-19 combines intensely moving personal stories with provocative and honest interviews with the clinicians in charge of dealing with wave after wave of Covid patients. Across the two episodes, lives are changed forever by the virus as it marauds through the community served by the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.

Cutting the series was challenging but very rewarding; I worked remotely with a team of six editors and two other edit producers, and we turned around the series in approximately seven weeks from the start of filming to transmission.

I spotted and developed key storylines as they were still being filmed amidst a huge influx of material, directing from the edit and working closely with the very talented and committed shooting teams. I also cut the series pretitle.
